Yoga at StartWell

We offer two complimentary classes per week (drop-in, registration required) included with Membership at StartWell. These Member-only classes are held at our Innovation Centre in a large open space with 16 foot ceilings, skylights and a tropical vibe.

Vinyasa Classes with Karen Parucha

Karen is the new owner of Downward Dog Yoga Centre. She first came to yoga in university to complement running and to prevent any injuries. Her passion for yoga became more than just the physical, and soon after, she signed up for her 300+ hour foundational training at Breathe Yoga Studio. Karen is also certified in Yoga for Runners, Restorative Yoga, and has completed more than 750 hours of Yoga Therapy training.

In her classes, she incorporates the use of props, breath and movement into classes that are fun, challenging and yet available to all bodies. She provides modifications for all levels so her students get the most out of her classes in a safe, positive, and encouraging environment.

Mondays @ 5PM (1hr)

A thoughtful balance of challenge + release. We’ll flow dynamically, weaving a theme into class or progress to a peak pose. Enjoy a well-rounded flow to build your skill + awareness. Expect inventive and thoughtful sequences; all coloured with the spirit of improvisation. All levels welcome. Modifications are provided. Props are encouraged.

A mindful movement class that prepares you for the day. Move, breathe and sweat in this energetic, well-rounded flow that incorporates sun salutations, standing and seated postures, guided by a steady breath to heat the body. All levels welcome. Modifications are provided. Props are encouraged.
