Enterprising Culture: Marseille Meets Toronto (Event Recap)

Working with the Canadian Film Centre's Media Lab as well as the City of Marseille, on July 9th 2019 we welcomed a French delegation to StartWell's event space on King Street West to consider how our two communities can work together and enable early stage ventures to cross-pollinate in the global startup ecosystem.

Attendees included local and foreign startup founders as well as representatives from the City of Marseilles, Canadian Media Fund, the Marseille-Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bureau du Québec à Toronto, Foreign Affairs,Trade and Development Canada and the Consulate General of France in Toronto.

Programming for the event was kept simple as the bulk of our guests were then travelling to Montreal for the International Startup Festival - StartWell's CEO moderated a panel discussing current institutional means to support opportunity discovery between our countries before groups broke out to network and enjoy lunch together.

It was a pleasure to host the French delegation and we look forward to producing similar events in coming months to introduce the world's innovators to Toronto and Canada as a whole.
