An inspiring place to spend one or multiple days with your team!

This unique large yet intimate event venue has been designed to enable teams to gather for multiple purposes - with full AV and flexible furnishings, which StartWell configures based on your request upon booking.

With a dedicated street entrance, your guests can walk into the suite from King Street and enjoy a comfortable mix of lounge, dining and conference/presentation furnishings - all on a single floor.

Enjoy exposed brick, high ceilings and tons of natural light - with windows facing the East and South (with Toronto's iconic streetcars rolling by on King Street.)

The venue is located at our main campus and can be booked with additional break out rooms, creating a modular scaffolding to create any type of corporate event.

Choose the right room setup for your session

Our team will setup the main table and chair configuration for you - so when you arrive on site, you can simply plug in your laptop and start your session!

Simply select your preferred setup upon booking - someone from our staff will be in touch to confirm your headcount and help you plan any other day-of logistics.

  • Conference

    Our default room setting is a large conference '0' which can seat up to 30 people at a single table setup.

  • Classroom

    40 chairs setup in seated rows - with power connections so that guests can type on laptops during training/education sessions.

  • Banquet

    Seating for up to 80 people around rectangular tables. With extra room at high tops and the lounge.

  • Row Seating/Theatre

    Up to 100 black folding chairs setup with a center aisle to walk up to the presentation area.

This unique venue works well for daytime or evening events. Our team manages furniture setup and we include options for different table and chair settings.

With a direct street entrance on King Street - entertaining clients, partners and staff in the evening is easy, especially with our turn-key audio visual equipment and live-streaming options.

Audio visual equipment & presentation tools are included

Enjoy simply plugging in your laptop upon arrival and getting started. If you'd like, a member of our media production team can meet you to get you settled. All equipment you will need is already setup and pre-configured.

This suite features:

  • 1x Mac Mini M1 powering the screens, video conferencing camera and 360-degree microphone as well as PA system (so you don't need to use your own computer - just use ours with your cloud account on Microsoft Teams or Google Workspace)
  • 2x 75" 4K displays on wheels, with HDMI and wireless Airplay connectivity
  • 1x Logitech BCC950 conference camera with USB/USB-C connectivity
  • 1x Blue Yeti 360-degree microphone with USB/USB-C connectivity (picks up audio for calls on Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or any other video conferencing software - from around the whole table setup)
  • 1x PA system for in-room amplified audio (so you can playback slides with audio or videos to your group or just play music in between presentations or during socials)
  • 4 wireless handheld microphones
  • 3x whiteboards on wheels
  • 2x flipchart easels with paper

*Additionally, there is another tv on wheels with HDMI and Airplay connectivity in the lounge area

How does catering work at StartWell?

When you book meeting or event space at StartWell in downtown Toronto, you can choose the catering company you prefer.

You are welcome to use any caterer you prefer to work with when you book meeting or event space at StartWell – from UberEats for small gatherings to organising for served meals or buffets for full team offsites etc…

We’ve had great experience in the past with these companies and do recommend reaching out to them:

The Food Dudes ( – reliable service for individual meals or shared or served menus - of all types of cuisines. Great for complete catering solutions.

InWit ( - honest food and pricing, with all types of cuisines arriving hot and fresh from local restaurant partners, in sustainable packaging. Best for per-person lunch solutions.

MadRadish ( - great options for healthy food!

Campus location and car parking

Our campus on King Street does not have a parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking in our neighbourhood.

Free 1hr street parking and paid parking lots are available. Note - King St typically does not allow parking past 3pm (during rush hour.)

We are minutes away from the financial core and Union Station, close to the Exhibition GO station and just off Lakeshore Boulevard + the Gardiner Expressway.

Directly across the street from our King St buildings (entrance from Tecumseth, south of King Street) is a paid underground parking lot operated by Upark. You can drive into the lot and pay hourly, daily or monthly from meters near the elevator entrances in the lot itself. When you walk up to the exit at street level you’ll be directly across the road from our King Street buildings.

If you've booked our Event Studio you will however have 4 parking spaces on the lot included with rental - just in front of the building. Please note: unless you've booked this building you *cannot* park at this location.

How does videoconferencing work when I book meeting space?

StartWell board rooms and work spaces come equipped with all the tools you need to set up video conference calls with people outside the room. Book one today!

All of our bookable meeting spaces for rent at StartWell offer turn-key AV for video conferences and in-room presentation on screens. Depending on the size of suite you book, the size and number of screens available may be different but we always ensure that you can arrive, plug in your laptop or connect wirelessly via Airplay to our available screens and that USB powered conference cameras are available to easily connect to video conferencing sessions and show everyone in the room on camera.

You’ll never need to worry about bringing remote guests into your meeting when you book at StartWell and for our larger suites, like the Offsite Venue and Event Studio, we even offer optional upgrades on AV – with in-house media production that can setup multi-camera live-streaming and recording for your session, raising the bar to turn a meeting into a conference whilst respecting your budget.

Are coffee, tea and filtered water included in venue rental?

All hosts and guests at StartWell enjoy complimentary espresso bar service at our main building's reception (786 King ST W.)

From Monday - Friday (9AM - 4PM) our staff baristas prepare espresso beverages and provide self-service pour-over coffee; all using micro-roaster ethically sourced beans. We also have a special robot that brews loose-leaf teas on demand and taps for reverse-osmosis filtered still and sparkling water at our reception cafe, available for 24hr self-service with bottles, cups and lids.

There are great hotel options very close to our campus on King Street West in downtown Toronto.  You can choose conventional options in the financial core, practical rooms across from the island airport, luxury boutique high-rises near theatres along King Street or something a little more artsy and funky a short walk from us.

Artsy/Funky Hotels

The Drake Hotel – Toronto’s first true boutique hotel – located close to us on Queen Street West, was one of the first art-scene focused establishments in the neighbourhood to bring change without trying to be at odds with history. We love this hotel and recommend it for food, drinks and entertainment (their basement is home to a lovely venue that has music shows, comedy and all sorts of things happening through the year and they have a lovely rooftop bar for summer months.)

Ace Hotel Toronto – The Ace Hotel is a brand new (in 2022) build located a short walk from our campus in a bustling neighbourhood featuring some of the city’s best shopping, restaurants and cultural highlights. The hotel features great dining in options plus event programming.

Gladstone House – This historic property used to be ‘the other boutique hotel’ on Queen street – a stone’s throw from the Drake, with honest and simple offerings which honoured the city ‘s artistic community and neighbourhoods edgy vibe. Recently revamped, its great location makes it a consideration if you want to explore some of the city’s best dining and entertainment on Queen Street or Ossington Street around the corner.

Bisha – This ‘luxury boutique’ hotel is a short walk from StartWell towards the city’s financial core and its wealth of conventional hotels. The Bisha has great dining options and a fun nightlife atmosphere.


Shangri-La Toronto – With an excellent spa and great restaurants (including Momofuku Noodle Bar) plus Toronto’s SOHO House Club, musicians in the lobby bar and a great location – across the road from Toronto’s Opera House (the Four Seasons Centre), there is a lot to offer here.

Ritz-Carlton Toronto – This recently built hotel is close by – walking distance from our campus and surrounded by the city’s classic theatre row on King Street. It features lake views from upper rooms and an excellent steak house.


1 Hotel Toronto – Previously incarnated as the Thompson Hotel, the 1 Hotel Toronto has been completely renovated and now features lush plants and a tropical vibe.

Hotel X – A great option if you are flying in and out of the Toronto Island Airport, this large hotel faces the lake and is right next to the highway.

Day time access to our groundfloor common space & espresso bar is included

Your team will always enjoy complimentary beverages from our on-site cafe at reception, as well as a wealth of spaces to take personal calls or focus on an email if they need to break away from the group session for a few minutes.

  • Library lounge access

    In addition to hot desks, we have a library lounge at our ground level (turn right just past our reception cafe.) This calm space offers comfortable seating with a selection of books and magazines to read during breaks from your sessions on campus.

  • Enterprise-grade wireless Internet (WiFi)

    Enjoy fast and secure wireless Internet access anywhere on campus - our wireless mesh let's you jump on a video call and carry your call from room to room, without dropping your connection.

  • Complimentary espresso bar with barista service

    All hosts and guests at StartWell enjoy complimentary espresso bar service at our main building's reception.

    We have 12 common desks available to use for quick focused work sessions - they are first come first served and located right next to our call booths for convenience.

  • Printing, Scanning, Copying

    If you need to print handouts or other reference materials for your meeting - we have a common printer on our ground floor past reception - you'll find additional stationary in the drawers underneath and can connect to print via USB cable or over our WiFi (look for the EPSON 4640 via Airprint or your device's system settings.)

  • Call Booths

    Need a place to take a private call whilst at StartWell for a meeting? No problem, we have call booths just past our reception cafe! They're first come first serve.

  • Whiteboards, Flip charts & Stickies!

    We make it easy to collaborate at StartWell - all of our suites offer whiteboards with erasers and markers, and we also provide flip charts with large and small sticky note paper. You can always get more supplies from our stationary drawers under the common printer on our ground floor or ask at reception.

You don't need to travel far to create compelling audience experiences and content - the StartWell Offsite Venue is in between King and Queen Street West.

Streetcars run on both and can take you to the subway in 10 minutes.

Our neighborhood is commercial/residential - we're walking distance to great restaurants, bars and team building activities.We have parking on lot plus there are paid lots nearby and its easy to jump off Lakeshore Boulevard or the highway onto Strachan if you're driving to the venue. The Exhibition Place GO station is a short walk away.
