PheedLoop is a Toronto-based company that combines event management software with on-site hardware for large-scale events. Over the years it has built one of the most respected products in its category worldwide. It has also stayed closely tied to the local event community that helped it grow.
That commitment led to Horizons, a quarterly customer event series where event professionals network, hear where the platform is headed, and give the PheedLoop team honest feedback.
On September 29, PheedLoop brought the second edition, Horizons II, to StartWell’s second floor in King West. This time it ran as an evening event, with more room for people to stay and talk after the program.
Arrival: the product as the welcome
Guests went straight from our front door to the second-floor landing. Registration happened there, so the first thing attendees did was check in on PheedLoop’s own system. Before anyone sat down, they had already used the product.
The program's homebase: our Level Up suite
From registration, guests moved into our Level Up suite for the talks. PheedLoop’s team presented new findings from its Event Data Lab research series and hosted a panel on what event sponsors are actually paying for today. They also covered features shipped since Horizons I and what’s coming next. In a short block, attendees heard both what the product does now and where it’s going.
The reception: our Offsite venue
When the talks ended, everyone moved into the Offsite, the suite next door, for drinks and snacks. Two choices made this part of the night stand out.
Hands-on demo stations.
PheedLoop set up live stations for check-in and badge printing. Guests could try the technology themselves with the team beside them, instead of watching a slide about it.
The President’s Corner.
PheedLoop president George Wong took over the couch area on the south side of the Offsite. That comfortable corner became a place where customers could talk with company leadership directly, one on one, and be heard.
The team also ran a photo scavenger hunt through PheedLoop’s own mobile app. It kept guests moving around the space and showed off one more feature without a formal pitch.
Why the format works
Horizons II gave a room of customers, prospects and industry peers a lot of information and a lot of interaction in a short evening.
The plan was simple: welcome people with the product, teach in one room, then open things up in the next room with demos and access to leadership.
