ICA President & CEO Scott Knox on Why Brands Need More Canada

Scott Knox, President and CEO of the Institute of Canadian Agencies (ICA), highlights the organization’s legacy as the world’s oldest trade body for agencies, founded in 1905.

The ICA’s mission is to amplify, protect, and transform agency businesses, their people, and the industry.

Canada’s agency sector, the most diverse in the G7, is uniquely positioned to deliver impactful marketing communications in a complex world. Knox urges global brands to bring business to Canada.

In 2025, the ICA, in partnership with Startwell, is launching a podcast and written series showcasing marketing excellence, aiming to promote Canadian agencies to international brands and pitch consultants - called Canadians Create.

About the show: 'Canadians Create'

Canadians Create is a weekly video podcast that brings a different case to our roundtable for open discussion.

With each episode, we dig deeper to reveal the humour, intelligence and empathy which the country’s creatives bring to their commercial work.

The show is produced by StartWell, in partnership with the Institute of Canadian Agencies and Little Black Book.
