Here at StartWell we think there are a few reasons to specifically enjoy our coworking space. Of course, we offer monthly subscriptions to access workspace but above that, there are coworking values we uphold for guests on campus – even if they come for a meeting for a few hours, stay the day on a daypass or return with their team for regular working sessions.
Comfort
It’s important for you to feel comfortable at work; that doesn’t mean that coworking spaces should offer beds for you to nap in, but a variety of seating scenarios are important. Sitting at a desk all day isn’t good for our health; ergonomic furniture helps but its important to have enough space to walk around when you need to as well as seated ones plus be exposed to nature (potted plants, windows etc…) Having access to lounge space to enjoy taking a break from work is as important as desk space to focus on emails.
Community
Not all coworking spaces have resident populations of folks – which is why community may mean different things to each space. Some give you a few connections through serendipitous conversations over coffee whilst at other spaces you’ll meet people who regularly come in to work from shared spaces on a daily basis. Whatever the context, coworking enables network formation because you meet people from different companies and walks of life in a comfortable and safe environment.
Connectivity
Developing your network of friends and work colleagues is important in order to feel connected to society. These things are difficult when remote working at home or from a suburban office which can give you a sense of isolation. Connecting with new people through a coworking space can give you new perspectives on your work and introduce you to new people.
